Thinking of starting a business? Learn to identify the business's potential. Learn the caveats needed to start and run a successful small business. Already have a small business? Learn how to fine-tune and re-invent so that it remains profitable in the future. Part time and home based business entrepreneurs are also encouraged to attend! Win $1,000 for business startup costs! $1,000 will be given to the program participant who is judged to have written the best business plan. All program participants who attend or have a substitute attend every session will be refunded the tutition cost of $100! Session 2 at Keokuk County Extension Office in Sigourney on November 11 at 6:30pm. Financing & projections - accounting and taxes. Session 3 at Farmers Savings Bank, Keota on Nov 18 at 6:30pm. Advertising & sales. Secondary topic: Patents, trademarks & copyrights, dealing with employees. Session 4 at MidWestOne in North English on Dec 2 at 6:30pm. Pricing, marketing and business plan writing. Secondary topic: Legal requirements, insurance and naming the business.
